I am trying to get a specific pid and ONLY that pid, not others that might have that pid embedded in them, i.e.<br />

345<br />
1345<br />
5345<br />
<br />
I only want to get the 345. &nbsp;If they would let me use Perl it would be easy, but I have to use ksh.<br />

Any ideas?<br />

Picking out one pid out of a list without getting the others that might have that pid embedded.

The term 'shell' refers to a general class of text-based command interpreters most often associated with the UNIX and Linux operating systems. Popular shells include Bourne, Debian Almquist (dash), Korn (ksh), Bourne Again (bash) and the C shell family (csh). Some view the DOS 'cmd' prompt as a minimal shell of sorts.
