Heating has nothing to do with storage.

This has to do with you playing certain types of videos.

Different videos will require different amounts of CPU cycles. This has nothing to do with length of file, rather relates to the video codec used when transcoding the video, along with video bit rate + profile + preset.

The only way you can fix this is to re-transcode offending videos so they place less load on your CPU.

handbrake can transcode
vlc to some extend
slightly more low level: ffmpeg

There should be on the settings screens an item storage. That should be albe to tell the state of storage size.

According to the Specifications 128gb is max supported.  If you are able to test out and work with more than that, it is probably fine using and working with more.  It just isn't supported by Motorola.  Or untested by Motorola.

Inserting bigger chipsets might also make the usuable size limited to 128GiB.   (Gb = Giga bit, GB = Giga Byte  a 8 times difference, and most probably, GiB = 1024 * 1024 * 1024, GB = 1000*1000*1000 ).
So anything beyond 128GiB would be invisible. (It has to do with the number of address bits that is supported by the device);
It really depends on how the OS handles the differences in sizes. And might range from not accepting the card to getting read/write errors during use.)
