Remove and Add AWS server to a Domain

We have a 2008 server in AWS and we need to remove and re-add it back to the DNS/Domain.
Is it as simple as if it were sitting in my local computer room or is it a really evolved process?
Meaning that I need to alter or deal with the Instances.

Hi Joe,

If your want remove instance,  first you need to take EBS volume screenshot of 'server 2008'.
and make sure, instance EBS volume backup successfully completed in EBS screenshot tab.

Remove instance and when you want  to add server 2008 instance, just  choose a option AMI and select your screenshot volume screenshot and complete the process.

Hello Mohit,
Sorry but I don't quite understand.
If the server was local to me I would go into the CND&W (Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings) and under Domain move the server to a local workgroup and then reverse the process to re-add it again.

I don't understand the need to Remove the actual AWS Instance -  couldn't the Instance remain running while the above process is done?
