1 dollar, 1 half dollar, 1 quarter, 4 dimes, 4 pennies = 2.19 $
Cut the three links of one chain for $.60 (3x$.20). Weld them to join the other 4 chains for $4.50 (3x$1.50). The total is $5.10.
