error "you are not authorized to do message tracking"
I added myself to local domain admins group in directory, but still got the same error.

is that something do check in mtstore.nsf ??

What release Domino do you use in this case? I see this message only in relation with R4 or R5... So it still happens in R9?

I assume you need indeed more rights on the server. When you change a Group, you'll have to wait some time before all changes become effective. Maybe you just have to try later again today?

I waited about 2 hours (assuming it's replication -my replication interval is 5 minutes)

No, it's not replication, it's internal tables, it should take less than 30 minutes, and there is some command that should speed it up but I'm not familiar with it.

Is he server itself in the ACL, as Manager?

in the config doc,
allowed to track messages is listed as localdomainsevers

but I am a member of local domain admins group which is a listed under administrators (will have issue remote console commands/compact/tract or delete or Crete replica/track messages, etc...) I server document..

The message store is a lot more secure than the other databases, and for some good reasons. I've never seen the message, so all I can say is that you'll get into trouble if you don't follow the directions...
