can i leave indexing options empty ? or how to fix indexing options which is too slow.
hi guys.
i got difficulties in searching through emails in outlook. got 2013 proff plus and its office 365 emial.
went through indexing and did rebuild, indexing went for couple of days but still goes on slowly, there is some kind of issue in indexing.
in application event log. got search warnings. 10023 and 10024 - gatherer warning
so i tried removing all items from indexing options. and search working good in outlook. it shows all search items properly.
should i leave indexing options empty ? will that be an issue ? what would happen if outlook is not in the indexing option ?

ASKER
in control panel, in indexing options - i unchecked all items, like outlook, user,IEhistory, cac hefiles.
if i uncheck all, and if i search in outlook, it shows all emails properly.

unchecking all basically means not to index at all. i will be be slower down search performance for searching through a large number of items.
ASKER
is there any way to force indexing to do faster ?
technically, no. practically, you may reduce the the scope of items to be indexed. no need to index those items not being often searched.
however, be aware that indexing is already a way to improve search performance.
