whats this-

Sharing a spreadsheet
A few notes before getting started: First, you can collaborate only with files stored in OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint Online, so make sure any files you want to share are stored there and that you’re logged into your Office 365 account.

Second, real-time collaboration works in Excel only if you have AutoSave turned on. To do it, choose the “On” option on the AutoSave slider on the top left of the screen. (This slider shows up in version 1707 Build 8326.2058 or later, but no versions before that. It’s a convenient way to tell whether you’ve got a version of Excel that allows for live collaboration).

this means the file which you are going to share must be on Microsoft Onedrive, Onedrive for Business or Sharepoint Online (cloud share drive) which are connected to your office 365 mailbox.. this you can share with multiple users in office 365

Excel for Office 365 subscribers, you might notice AutoSave in the upper-left corner. AutoSave is enabled when a file is stored on OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint Online. It automatically saves your changes to the cloud as you are working

would like to use a spreadsheet collaboratively to manage peer to peer contact. Excel online allows this by using the AutoSave feature. However, we need version 1707 Build 8326.2058 or later.
I know we 2016 version we have . However, I can see that we have build 16.0.11115.31877. I don’t think we have the appropriate version because if we did we would see “AutoSave” in the upper Lhand corner.

Do we need to upgrade to version 1707 Build 8326.2058 (or later) then give us access to Autosave?
Above is the info from the Microsoft website on collaboration:
co authoring and autosave are fetures supports version 1707 Build 8326.2058 (or later)

if you try the same file access with earlier versions you may face issue like file may ope readonly... or you may get strange behavios.

all the best
What about O2016, we have currently? Do we need to upgrade from 2016 to ...?
