Importing OVF to vCloud Director

I am trying to export a server from on premise ESX environment to vCloud Director on a hosted ESX platform. I noticed that you can only import ovf files into vCloud Director, my understanding is that a ovf export is made up of multiple (.ovf / .vmdk / .mf) files where as an ova is a single file export. If vCloud Director doesn't support the upload of ova's how do you get a single ovf file that includes the vmdk's and mf files ?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Is it a standalone ESXi box or do you have a VCSA, can you please tell me what version of ESXi etc you're running.

Thanks
Alex

Yes they are running vCenter.. I don't have access to it so not exactly sure what version

Looks like when you select the ovf vCloud also grabs the other files associated with it.
