How does RegisterSod work in Sharepoint?

I just have a question about RegisterSod.  I am seeing this in the pages code in the head and was wondering how it works in sharepoint 2013.  The example is below:

<script type="text/javascript">RegisterSod("initstrings.js", "\u002f_layouts\u002f15\u002f1033\u002finitstrings.js?rev=S11vfGURQYVuACMEY0tLTg\u00253D\u00253D");</script>

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

SoD is Script on demand, RegisterSOD means it "Might" utilise the script, not it will use it.

So it'll call your script at the right place
