Roku 3900X broadcasts hidden SSID

Have a client using a Roku Express 3900X, that is broadcasting a hidden SSID.  I am unaware of any reason for this.  Yes, I am sure it is the Roku device.  Can it be turned off?

Is it the link for the remote?

If so it is safe as it cannot bridge to your network, it is solely used to connect to the handset

Believe the remote to be infared.

You can test if infrared by covering the Roku. If you can still use the controller then it's wireless.

I don't have the roku, it is a client device.  I did not test when I was onsite, as I was unaware Roku made a non infared remote.  All of mine are infared and do not broadcast wifi SSID.  I haven't been able to find any information from Roku on infared or not on that model.  His model is a variation of the Express that differs from all of mine.

Does anyone know for sure any details for the 3900x Roku specific to the remote?

Roku has a Enhanced “point-anywhere” remote.  This remote uses the wireless networking of 2.4GHz.
