Macbook with damaged screen

macbook air 2014 offered for the price $100with damaged screen.  see attached.
apple support said they can fix for estimate$300
what do you think the problem is?   is it something I can fix on my own?  if not,  would I be able to recover selling parts?

Your question is unclear, you are interested in buying or selling? the average price on ebay is roughly the cost of the fix

If you're not electro-mechanically  capable, you should just spend the  $300.  $400 total for the system is decent for something from 2014.

You can always plug in an external monitor and use it as a server.  (It's basically BSD, after all.)  I'd just remove the monitor, or just disconnect the video cable, to make it even lower powered.

Fixed!  It was just a connector.  
Very good deal.

Didn't even have to open it up. It's just being pressed so I removed pressure
