Need to create lead from email in Dynamics
Need to create a lead in dynamics from an email, and I need that lead to include information in the body.
Is it possible to setup a single email account, that dynamics pulls from, and then includes data from the body to create the lead?

I plan to use Record Creation and Update Rule.
Where exactly does it pull the email from? We have users setup with CRM plugin in outlook, does it analyze the emails they receive?
Also, do you know where a list of the commands to use in the form properties are, like the first name last name? I'd like for it to pull that from inside the email body.

Hi Knighstman,
Which version of Dynamics CRM you are using? Is it 365? if yes then which version 9? or something else? You can check Settings(top right corner) -> About to figure out version.
Are you using CRM Online or On-Premise?
Assuming you are using Dynamics 365, here is the way to track records using the Outlook plugin.
https://docs.microsoft.com /en-us/dyn amics365/c ustomer-en gagement/o utlook-add in/user-gu ide/overvi ew-trackin g-records
Please note that Dynamics will try to extract contact/lead and try to determine the name but it is not always accurate. Email is not structured data so first and last name might be bit off. As long as body content is concerned, you will get the entire email body once the email is tracked, you can easily create further records from it. The process works same as Workflows, so you will get a workflow like interface to choose the source fields and target fields. Have you tried creating a sample rule yet?

Chinmay.

Sorry for the delay, I do not recall getting an email that a reply occurred.
It is 365 V9.
I want a way for it to automatically create a lead from an email that is not tracked by the user. We also do not track or auto track emails that come in. I was hoping to use a isolated email that only dynamics used to pull emails then create the lead.

Hi Knightsman,
We can handle this in couple of ways, can you tell me which type of mailbox this is gonna be? Is it Exchange? or some other mail service?

Its 0365 exchange, and The server uses servers side Sync
Perfect.
If you want to do it from within CRM, Record creation rules are the way to go OR you can use Microsoft Flow to do the same.
1. Define a mailbox in CRM with the necessary information
2. Define a queue that is configured for this mailbox
3. Define an automatic record creation rule targeting this queue.

If you are Using Dynamics 365 Online then you could use Microsoft Flow to do this.
There are other ways as well but without knowing more details about your requirements and Dynamics environment it is difficult to suggest the best method.
