Importing an invoice into  Quick Books reflecting two different state sales tax entries

Is it possible to import an invoice that reflects two different states sales tax into Quick Books? Can, in general,  Quick Books show two different Sales tax rates on one invoice?

I have been struggling with exporting from a 3rd party database, to importing into Quick Books via an IIF file without errors. I finally got past the error messages with a successful import only to discover it only recognizes one states sales tax rate (we deal with several states for a number of customers).

Anybody have experience with this?

You can certainly do retail and VAT taxes

In QB, go to Lists, Sales Tax Lists and add the item for the State you want.

Any one invoice line can only have one Tax code. But different lines can have different tax codes.

That should work fine.

Hi John

Thank you for your quick response.

Sometimes it's about knowing the right question to ask, and the  time to ask it. I feel I have jumped the gun on my question without fully knowing the parameters of my global project. With that being said, you were very helpful in filling a piece to my grand puzzle.

Thank you
