You can always use the old school simple way.

1) In your mail client, leave your old pop3 setup.

2) Setup your new 365 account.

3) Drag + Drop mail from old account to new account.

Warning: This works very well, so long as you only do a few 100 email at a time.

If you drag + drop a folder with 1,000,000+ email from one account to another, the likelihood this will work correctly is zilch.

I made this mistake once + it took a long time investment to clean up the mess.

Start with 100 messages + then a few 100s. Never more than a 1000, just as a general rule.

Once you get PST file on your Mac OS.

Next, follow below steps to migrate all your data from PST to Office 365

Step 1: On the Outlook for Mac File menu, select Import…

Step 2: Choose Outlook for Windows archive file (.pst), and then choose Continue.

Step 3: Locate the data file on your computer, and then choose Import.

Step 4: When the import process is complete, choose Finish.

The imported items appear in the navigation pane under On My Computer.

Be aware that the import goes (pretty) fast because items are loaded into your local cache. Then it will take considerable time, even hours depending on the amount data, to get the local items synchronized into the online O365 mailbox.

Check Outlook's Synchronization Status after a while, but also be aware that Outlook initially states "All folders are up-to-date", only after while the status will change to synchronizing. Give it time :-). If you restart Outlook in between giving it time to see Synchronization Status changing, even when it mentions you are "Connected to Microsoft Exchange".

If you initially tried to import the PST using Outlook 2016 for MAC, remove this local instance "On My Computer", to ensure this stail version of items is not accidentally used to send and/or receive items.

Hope this will help you to proceed easily!!!!!
