Run a VMWare VM within VMWare VM in Azure cloud
I have an Ubuntu VMWare VM Not available in Virtual box) . I was trying to run it as a VM within an Azure VM (Windows 2016 DC). But for some reason, I can’t open it in VMware workstation ( 14 & 15) .
The error I get is “VMware Workstation and Hyper-V are not compatible. Remove the Hyper-V role from the system before running VMware Workstation” . But the hyper v role is not installed ( even greyed out in roles)
Googling gives this issue is Windows build related ( may have nothing to do with Azure) and could not see a real fix

Are you trying to run a nested VM?
