How to change profile data on Microsoft Teams

Hello Experts,
We ave O365 and have been using Teams for collaboration. I noticed that when i hover over someones picture and it gives info like deptartment, phone, fax, etc it seems to be getting it from AD (we use AD Connect to sync our AD to O365). However, If i change something, it doesnt change it in Teams. If i go to the user account  inside O365 I cant change anything since it says its getting the info from AD. I'm not sure what I'm missing. I changed some info on a couple people on friday and it hasnt changed on Teams.

Do I need to change it somewhere else or tell it to sync new data somewhere?

Thank you.

The data source is Azure AD, not AD. If you are using dirsync, it will take some time for the changes to be reflected, as they need to first be synchronized to Azure AD. From Azure AD, it goes to the individual directories used by the different Office 365 workloads. In the case of Teams this will be relevant if you have selected the option to use the Exchange address book policies to enable a basic version of ethical firewall, which they recently introduced.

Other than that, I'd advise you to check whether there are any errors with the sync process. In general Teams should see the exact same info you see from the Office 365/Azure AD portal (unless you're using the setting I mentioned above), and if the data in O365 is not current, this signals for issues with the sync process.

I dont see any issues with AD Connect. I'm getting green checks all around (uploaded pic). It Syncs every 30 minutes. Unless after the initial sync for a user it only syncs password info? We do use Exchange Online and that is working correctly. If i change groups, or add groups or add email aliases it syncs correctly.

what is the ethical firewall? I havent heard of that.

Thank you.

BINGO! Thank you Vasil. Its the caching on the desktop app. I should have checked that first because i do the same thing when having issues with exchange and outlook. I always check the web version of email but for some reason i forgot all about teams having a web version.

When i logged in to the web version i do see the changes. Now to find out how long the desktop app keeps it cached. lol

Thanks again.
