Website hosting and register

Hi guys,
Just a general question on website hosting and registering.

I know it’s 2 sepeRate parts. Website registered with one person and hosted in another place.

Where can I find my dns management console ? Will it be with register or hosting side ?
And when I look for name servers, I points to Microssoft name servers. Does it mean it’s Microsoft hosting my website ?

Hi guys,

Ok. For example. - abc.com is my website.
ABC.com if it's registered by xx.com
And hosted by Yy.com

And if I want to access my dns management - will it be in xx.com(which is where my domain registered)? ?

And my ns records will be pointing to Yy.com(which is where it is hosted)? Am I correct ?

Is there any website you guys recommend to understand/learn fully about domain/how website and dns records works ??
stacy simpkins

Yes, that’s usually how it works unless xx and yy are same e.g.  then everything is at zz

WEBSITE
what is the result of nslookup www.domain.com  That will give you an ip address now if you search the ip address you will be shown the provider that owns that ip address,
Email same as above but nslookup mx.domain.com

DNS is where the A record is in your dns lookup.  Start at your registrar.
