The key is that you customize it for your users tasks. Then it is at least equal to the Win 10/Win 7 shell.<br />

Just configure the start menu and especially the task bar for the use-case. Provide the applications the need in the first start menu group. Remove all they don't need. Place only the important applications on the task bar. No, e.g. Windows Explorer is not that important, use Win-E in that case. &nbsp;Also clean-up the system tray and which icons are displayed permanently (language, date/time, maybe sound).

The official Classic Shell is definitely compatible for Win2012, and is my preferred way of having users work faster instead of the terrible ad-heavy tiles

2012, not 2012 R2. 2012 does not have a start button. Even if it is 2012 R2, it is not the new interface. The new interface is in 2016 and 2019<br />

Yes, and that is why I suggest the right side Programs menu. It adapts to all systems: &nbsp;Workstations plus Server 2008 through 2016 and most probably 2019

We have a windows 2012 RDP server and we have 15-20 users who have simultaneous access . As windows 2012 start menu is not very user friendly. Will it be compatible to install classic shell on a windows 2012 server?<br />

Will Classic shell be compatible with windows 2012

Windows Server 2012 is the server version of Windows 8 and the successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Windows Server 2012 is the first version of Windows Server to have no support for Itanium-based computers since Windows NT 4.0. Windows Server 2012, now in its second release (Windows Server 2012 Release 2) includes Foundation, Essentials, Standard and Datacenter, and does not support IA-32 or IA-64 processors.
