Business Page on Facebook

Hello,

I have a personal Facebook page.

I want to create a pages for my businesses.

Do I create my business page under my personal account? If no, then what are the steps to follow? I have found different advices online and I don't know which one to follow.

After doing that, is it advisable that I link Instagram to my Facebook business page? I saw an option on FB that does that. Do I use it? Or shall I keep each page separate?

Thanks,

Yes, in order to create a facebook page, you will need to have a personal account. It's basically a requirement. Also, Facebook doesn't allow you to setup multiple personal accounts (ex. a personal and a work "personal" account) -- so every page you manage, is connected to your actual personal account.

Whether or not you connect instagram into your page, really comes down to if you plan to run ads on instagram. Having it connected to your facebook page can make the process of ad management easier.

Thanks Lucas.

So the business page has to be under my personal account and not under a business account that I need to create for that purpose? I read on a help article that it is always recommended that I create business pages far from my personal accounts.

On the other hand, I have just created two pages for two different businesses under my personal account, the first one asked me to choose a user name, and of course most of them were taken, so I finally chose something that is available. However, when I created the second page, I was not asked to choose a user name for that page. Why is that?
Yeah, you're only allowed to have one personal account on Facebook:

And a personal account is required to create Business pages. Hence, you're personal account is tied to your Facebook Business Pages behind the scenes.

If you don't have any use for Facebook on a personal level, then it's not a big deal as your personal account likely doesn't have any real-world social connections anyway. However, if you use your Facebook account to connect with friends/family, it's kind of unfortunate. I know I personally would like to keep work and personal completely separate.

Your username is used for mentioning your brand and is also used as the vanity url (ex. facebook.com/yourbusinessname):

I don't think you're able to create a username until you have like 25 likes on the page.

I have created - as I said - two business pages, and they have zero likes because both are hidden.

I am attaching both for you to see. One has a user name and the other does not and did not ask me to choose one.

What do you think?

Hello Lucas are you there? I have not heard any comments from you after my last one.
Hi,

I'm not sure why during the setup process you weren't asked to create a username for the second page.  However, you should be able to edit it under the "Edit Page Info > About" section.

Hi Lucas,

Please see attached. The Edit page does not have any field to do with User!
