Converted VM in an infinite reboot loop
Aloha,
I inherited several Windows 7 VM's that are wasting a huge amount of disk space. My thought
was to use Converter to trim some fat. The conversion worked but the VM won't boot properly.
I'm in an infinite loop of Starting Windows/seeing a BSOD for a very-pico second/Windows Error
Recovery. All options in Windows Error Recovery send me back into the loop.
Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated.

as mentioned by dfke, its properly a driver issue https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1892819-win7-vm-reboot-loop
More than likely you got an image built for a desktop. In that image is more than likely the drivers for the drive controller which are not directly compatible with Virtualbox. The image file will need the drive controller(s) set to generic and any other hardware specific drivers removed. It will also need to be sysprepped properly before being recaptured.
With the sounds of your IT department it would be faster to build one from scratch. See if you can get the .iso file and the key and just purpose build the VM. A fresh build should only take about a day with updates.

No it did not convert correctly.
what is the BSOD ? ( number ?)
Storage Controller issue Stop 7B ?

Ok let me rephrase - the conversion did not abend.. The BSOD comes and goes so quickly no details can be seen.
with a BSOD error message it's difficult to diagnose as to what is happening.
Are these hosted on ESXi ?

A quick read tells me you hit the nail on the head - again. I will try this after lunch.

Why do you divide by 512?
It sounds like a driver issue. Most of the time it's missing some SCSI drivers.
Read up here it might help you out.
