Unable to login to Outlook application, but can use OWA on Office 365, getting error Something went wrong, we weren't able to register your device and add your account to Windows.

Windows 10 Pro system on a local network with no domain controller.
I setup Office 365 for the company. I have their emails and phone services setup on their E5 accounts.

At this time, the office manager's account won't let her login to Outlook.

I can launch Office apps, but I can't open anything from One Drive yet.
I can't find any settings that changed, but I did want to secure her laptop to Azure AD so that when she logs in,  it would authenticate using the email address and password she uses to connect to email.   At this time I don't see any settings that have changed. I have gone in to look at Azure AD and in the portal it doesn't look like its any different from the other users.

Yet, the user can login to the computer fine, I see no Azure AD apps on the computer.

I have run the outlook troubleshooting apps and I can't find any issues.
I can't use outlook stand alone but the outlook web access works fine from the https://portal.office.com website.

I have run the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365
I start outlook and I get a enter password screen
Then it comes up asking me if I want to use this account everywhere.
I can say "Allow my organization to manage my device or not" it doesn't matter
I get prompted one more time to login

I enter the email account password one more time into outlook login window and it comes up and says "Something went wrong"    We weren't able to register your device and add your account to Windows. Your access to org resouces may be limited.

I have tried using the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365

Get an error that says "Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The file C:\users\<username>\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook\user@companydomain.com.ost cannot be accessed.

I don't see any setting that got changed, but I  was trying earlier in the week to find a way to have this user login to Azure AD and authenticate there. Is it possible that I set something up which is preventing her from accessing outlook on this computer?

When I setup outlook on mine, I can do so on my outlook. So something has to be blocking it on the computer or in Azure AD I would think.

So from what I gathered from the above, there is an issue with the AAD domain registration process, right? If so, try running the dsregcmd to get the status, and additional debug information:

dsregcmd /debug > c:\debug.txt

Or you can simply remove the AAD join requirement.
The issue is fixed now.
