Index update asks for passwords

For the first time I have updated the index in Paperport (before I used it mainly for scanning). The indexing went allright apart from the fact that it was interrupted several times to supply passwordes. But I do not use passwords after I scanned a file and if the files from elsewhere were be behind passwords they would not be of any use for me. Any explanation/solution?
Thanks

Hi Theo,
I was cleaning up some open tabs in Firefox and ran across this one. Sorry I missed it when it first came in...I'm normally on top of all-things PaperPort.

Since you do not use passwords when you create documents after scanning with PaperPort, the request by All-in-One Search for passwords must be due to other docs on your system that are password-protected. That's the only explanation I can think of, but in the nearly six months that have passed since you posted the question, have you come up with any other explanation?

In terms of a solution, you can exclude the password-protected files from indexing via the New Task dialog of the Index Manager when you create the indexing task:

You could either move all the password-protected files into a single folder and not index that folder or you could exclude each file individually. Regards, Joe
