Vcenter on windows 6.7
HI Exeprts
we upgraded our Vcenter to 6.7 9433894 on windows
and our ESXI servers to VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 8169922
my question that i heard that Vmware will stop Vcenter on Windows . is this right and on which version
plus is really the appliance will be good enough to cover all we need . our vcenter on windows with MSSQL DB standard edition work very well
and what about the new appliance is really can cover third party plugins and vcenter linked mode etc
plus they said in 6.7 they will have full HTML GUI and flash will go away in which version
also said for GPU sharing with new version we can make Vmotion even if the VM on
kindaly advice

Thanks
I know the old vsphere client not available after 6.0
I have no problem to use the web management
But my question which time VMware will give us full functional HTML 5 version
Also I have no problem to use appliance but for me the windows version works very well
I don't install windows update if not necessary
And we don't have problems about licensing
Cost
But again if you say appliance stable and cover linked mode and I can install third party plungins
So why not
And what about my question for gpu sharing with vmotion

VUM was the last major piece missing from VCSA 6.5. Now that it is in VCSA 6.7, there really should be no reason to run vCenter on Windows. Why run on Windows instead of the lightweight Photon OS?
@kevinsieh I'm afraid your information is a little out of date, VUM was integrated into vSphere VCSA 6.5 from December 2016!

VMware announced at VMworld 2015, that they would be concentrating less on vCenter Server for Windows, and putting more effort into VCSA (the Appliance).
But three years later we still have vCenter Server for Windows...
There is no reason in the last three years to install vCenter Server on Windows, save your Windows license, and use the Appliance, it came of age many years ago.
As for the Web/Flash GUI argument, the vSphere Client (C#) client is no longer supported and gone away, so get used to the Web Browser management.
It does not matter whether you are on Windows or Appliance - 6.7 uses both the same logic, in terms of management and plugins etc.
Do yourself a favour and dump Windows, most Windows Update break vCenter Server for Windows.
Yes, that's got nothing to do with the vCenter Server Windows versus VCSA debate!
