Is there a specific standard that says a &quot;Create New Record&quot; button should not be on the Edit screen or is that just a common sense thing? &nbsp;The application is not one in which users are required to create hundreds of records a day, it is more like maybe a few at a time or maybe only a few a week.<br />

A business owner requested this but I, as a developer, felt the request should be denied due to violating Coding Standards and Best Practices but the Project Manager thinks I should do it because they feel they should never say &quot;No&quot; to a request.<br />

I've asked other developers on my team and they agree with me but our Team Lead wants a specific Standard to site to prove my point before saying 'no' to the request.
