Shared mailbox issue

Hi Experts,

My customer Linda is the owner of a resource mailbox in a Exchange 2016 infrastructure on Prem which name is Resource-Capital.

When she tries to share the Contacts for this account, she is able to add the user, but when selecting the permissions levels, in this case “Reviewer”, she gets the following error message. Please, refer to screenshot attached

If she selects any other like Author or Pcontributor, she is able to add and save the permission settings but when tries to add the Contact folder, the user cannot see any of the contacts.

I had the Client try from another PC and we experienced the same results.  We verified the owner’s permission and they stated that she had full access and should be able to grant access.  She has in the past and has many other users who currently have access. All this started a month ago.

Can someone please provide instructions step by step with tons of screenshot to resolve this incident? Please, be advised the user is trying to share a contact from a shared mailbox resource contact.

To summarize:

issue with owner of a resource account no longer able to share the contacts

Troubleshooting done so far:

1.RDP the Client’s Wkst. And verified that she was following the proper steps, as she has done in the past, to grant access to the Contacts folder for the specified Resource Account. 1.From the Folder List, right click on the Resource account name, left click on Properties.
2.From the properties screen, select the Permissions Tab
3.Added the user in question and selected the appropriate permissions level
4.Click Apply

2.Go to the Contacts folder. 1.Right click on the resource Account Contacts folder and left click on Properties.
2.From the properties screen, I selected the Permissions Tab
3.Added the user in question and selected the appropriate permissions level

No luck.

From another post we tried the proposed solution below, with no luck

To resolve this problem grant, apply and then remove Delegate access. This action forces a re-write of the Access Control Lists (ACL) at the mailbox level, which propagates to the folders.

To grant, apply, and then remove Delegate access (Outlook 2003/2007):

In the Microsoft Outlook client, click Tools, click Options, and then click Delegates.
Click Add, and then click any user in the global address list field.
In the Permissions page, click OK, click Apply, and then click OK again.
Click Tools, click Options, click Delegates, and then remove the user that you added in step 2.

To grant, apply, and then remove Delegate access (Outlook 2010):
Select the File tab, click Account Settings, and then click Delegate Access.
Click Add, and then click any user in the global address list field.
In the Permissions page, click OK, click Apply, and then click OK again.
Select the File tab, click Account Settings, click Delegate Access, and then remove the user that you added in step 2.
