WSUS - Connection Error

I installed WSUS service on my server and it was working completely fine. But today, when I opened to check of all the users are getting update from WSUS or not it gave me an "Error: Connection Error".

I've checked various comments on internet, they say that remove the role and re-install it again.

Can someone please suggest me some better way to tackle this issue rather then just uninstall and reinstall it again.

Thank You.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What was the solution?

This error is probably due to the WWW Publishing service being configured to allow interaction with the desktop. To solve this problem, take the following steps:

1. Open the Services snap-in (click Start, click Run, and then type services.msc).

2. Right-click the World Wide Web Publishing service and select Properties.

3. On the LogOn tab, clear the Allow service to interact with desktop check box.

4. Click OK, and then dismiss the Services snap-in.

5. Open a command shell using administrative rights, type iisreset.

At this point you should be able to access the WSUS server from the console again.
