Windows 7 Pro Machine Hangs
My Windows 7 Pro Machine "hangs." This all seems to have started after I installed FreeMake Audio Converter. I have removed it. I have no viruses\malware. But, the computer still "hangs". The only way to recover is to reboot.
I agree with the above. You must restore to a version prior to installing the software.
You can download, install, and run Process Explorer from Microsoft SysInternals. See if there are any Audio Converter entries and delete them. Then delete the program folder (Program Files x86) from your system

Also what did you use to determine you have no viruses or malware? Because most of the systems I have fixed the owner was absolutely sure they never did anything wrong.

Unfortunately, the restore points do not work..they all fail.

I contacted NortonLive Malware and Virus removal team. They found nothing...and refunded my money.
You may need to do a Windows 7 Repair Install. You need the Windows 7 DVD to do this.

The fact that the restore points fail screams infection as new hardware drivers cause restore points to fail and the bad guys have known how to hide themselves quite well for over a decade, now.
Try Roguekiller or ESET's online scanner.

Can you boot into Safe Mode? Press F8 repeatedly before the Windows Splash Screen appears to enter safe mode.
Review the Windows System Event Log to determine what system level call is causing the failure.
