How long do I have to wait after receiving the warning message about not being able to delete more than 4000 messages from my deleted items folder.

Got a message regarding deleting permanently more than 4000 emails in Outlook.  Have Exchange server 2010 mailbox.  Want to know how long do I have to wait before I can delete more emails.  Trying to clean up a large deleted items folder but can't just empty the whole folder at this point.  Thanks.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If I understand correctly, the 4000 items limit only applies to a single delete operation. Successive deletes should be able to take another 4000 items without having to wait.

Thanks but that did not appear to happen earlier when I tried it. I'll check back later in the day to see if it will allow me now...
