Monitoring a UPS on SCOM 2016 - OID wrong?

Hello everyone.
I have a INSIGHTPOWER UPS (aka Delta UPS) and I configured the snmp at UPS webportal with community 'deltaups' (without quotes) Digging on the internet i have finded this OID to the UPS:

.1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4

With a gui named "SNMP Tools" i have the same OID:

User generated image
The UPS is discovered fine in opsmgr 2016:

The same OID in discovered network device:

The SNMP Service and SNMP TRAP service are both disabled.

In opsmgr i've created a new group with the UPS, when i create a new monitor and put the OID i receive this message:

User generated image
i've tested ".1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4", "1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4","OID.1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4","OMG.1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4", LMAO.1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4"... and nothing works.

What i missing? The ports is open.

Install net-snmp: http://www.net-snmp.org/

Then, in a terminal (cmd or powershell) run
snmpwalk -v 2c -c deltaups 10.62.9.22 1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4

Post the result here, please.

End of MIB
OK, that's great.
In that table you have the input voltage, input frequency, status (online/charging/on battery/etc), load, remaining battery %, remaining battery time, etc.
Now you need to figure out which is which.

There should be a MIB reference on the producer's website. If not, you can write support to get it.

After you get that, in sysops you need to input each OID.
For ex, I assume 1.3.6.1.4.1.2254.2.4.1.8.0 is "Input Voltage"

Hmm How did you interpret all this?
I did not.

I simply monitor using Nagios several UPS. And for each brand I had to look for the MIB table and add a check for each parameter.

It's very manual, but you only need to do the work once for each brand/model.

ok, but why the message "the targeted object is not valid for an snmp rule or monitor"? I've founded this list: http://www.oidview.com/mibs/2254/DeltaUPS-MIB.html
No one OID from list are accepted in opsmgr. the message is always "the targeted object is not valid for an snmp rule or monitor"
Aren't you supposed to either create an object or put the IP there?
How does opsmgr know what host it should interrogate?

ASKER

did you know opsmgr?
Nope. I'm using Nagios for monitoring.
