asked on How to change background color and /or customize Windows File Explorer Coloring Background/ foreground
Recently updated Microsoft Windows 10 update 1809 and found windows explorer in a dark background. Tried to find help documentation for customizing color. Is there no way to change the background back to white (stupid Microsoft for not providing the capability to customize such a widely used utility!!!
Maybe the color selection can be manipulated via regedit somehow. What a pain Microsoft is!!!!

In 1809 Explorer and some other apps follow the Windows theme you have set up. If you use Dark Theme, you get darker colours, with the default theme it should be white as background.
