Having a major issue trying to update Creative Accounting Suite. Update keeps failing when attempting to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 redistributable (x86). Following their troubleshooting guides I have uninstalled it, then ran update again and get the same failed notice.
I've downloaded the latest package from Microsoft and put it in the setup folder of the program as suggested, but still no joy.

Have you tried uninstalling any versions of VC 2013 restart and then install the latest version manually prior to installing?

did you start the setup 'As Administrator' ? you have to right-click at the setup*.exe and choose this option.

note, using an admin account is NOT the same. some setup programs do not ask for administrator rights and therefore would fail if you double-click them.

if the package still doesn't install you should install the VS 2013 Redistributable separately (what seemed to work!). But be aware that  if CS Suite is 32-bit you need the redistributable for 32-bit applications (x86) what currently was used. if CS Suite is a 64-bit program you need the redistributable for 64-bit programs. as far as i know, both redistributables can be installed at your 64-bit windows computer.

another issue might occur if some drivers still need the already installed package. then the uninstalling is not complete as long as you don't reboot.
