Outlook IMAP won't send emails... unless I Forward the message. NO ERRORS

Hello all, I have a rather odd issue concerning Outlook 365 and IMAP.  I setup a new laptop for a friend.  Windows 10 PRO.  We installed a fresh copy of Office 365 and setup her work email which is IMAP.  Everything seemed ok.  Then this morning she called saying emails were stuck in her Outbox.  So I remote into her PC and sure enough.  The only way I can get her email to send is if I right click on the email and select Forward.  Then put the recipients email address in to the CC field and it will send.  Then I have to delete the original email from the Outbox.  Thoughts?

Thanks,

Tim

@Tim,

That is an interesting one, I would have to agree with the first step that @Daniel gave you as it definitely sounds like corruption of the application and or mail profile. It could also very easily be Malware as you are able to send a message if you "Forward or CC" the message and not though normal channels. If it was a configuration issue, you would not be able to even do that.

If rebuilding the application doesn't fix the issue, I would highly suggest you scan the machine for malware.

Definitely not malware as this is a brand new laptop right out of the box.  She hasn't had a chance to infect it yet :).  I did a scan and found nothing unusual.

I then did the Office Repair and that seems to have solved the problem.  I was trying to avoid doing a new Outlook Profile as I didn't want her to have to re-download all of her email because she has years and years with of emails.  Thank God the Office Repair seems to have worked.  If it comes back I'll let you know!

Thanks!

Thanks for the update, so the issue appears on the outside to be Corruption with the outlook profile. Or it could also be related to any folder redirection or roaming profile settings that you have setup on your network.
