VMWare hyperthreading patch issue

I have just patched my ESXI host & now get an error - esx.problem.hyperthreading.unmitigated

I have had this before on other hosts & followed KB55806 to enable ESXI Sid-Channel-Aware Scheduler without an issues.

On this particular host when I go to Advanced System settings, I can search for VMkernel.boot.hyperthreadingMitigation but I am unable to change its value.

Am I doing something wrong or is there another way round it?

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/57374 provides a good explanation of problem.

https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/55636 provides fix steps.

The KB55636 just points you to KB55806 for the fix. That is what I am already looking at

No, the other 2 are newer.

So there is no way round this message like the other 2?
I would assume you do not have VMware support? If you do not have support than you might need to try enabling your hyper threading in the bios if it is disabled. In addition, make sure your Lifecycle controller and bios etc., are up to date.
