Cisco ASA: Cannot get out of Rommon mode
HI Experts,
I attempted to change a password for a Cisco ASA 5515. I am pretty sure i reset the whole thing, it's ok if I did, i needed to start over anyways.
The problem is I cannot get out of Rommon mode.
I did this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnatwN9YNUs
and suggested towards end of page
https://community.cisco.com/t5/other-security-subjects/asa-keeps-booting-to-rommon/td-p/604628
I am currently at a rommon #0> prompt
Getting it back to default to reset up would be ideal but pretty sure I messed it up.
Please help. Thank you

What happens when you type in boot and hit enter?
ASKER
it keeps looping
You also confirmed your register is 0x1?
ASKER
Yes initially
Do you know the image name and have you tried boot disk0:<old image>?
ASKER
it says error file not found unable to boot an image, then says searching for images to boot and says loading it, and booting
but if I let it go, it will keep looping and restarting

Mm, If all you wanted to do was to reset the password, I'm pretty sure you did not mess around with the IOS image.
Try this
rommon #1> confreg 0x41
rommon #2> boot
If it does not work, then search on the flash directory and find the image, type it as it. For example.
Boot flash:/asa90..... I'm pretty sure you get the picture.
