Determine whether there is a connection to a WAN port
How can I tell in the GUI or CLI if there is something connected to the WAN2 port of a fortigate 60d?

access your firewall then
Go to Log & Report > Traffic Log > Forward Traffic
to see network traffic from different source IP addresses flowing through
both wan1 and/or wan2 as shown in figure 1
To be sure 100% of your setup, try to disconnect the wan1 port on the FortiGate unit to see that all traffic automatically goes
through the wan2 port unit, until wan1 is available again as shown in figure 2.
