Cannot do copy and paste

Hello,

For some reason, I am not able to do copy and paste on my Windows 10 desktop anymore.  I have tried to run echo off | clip to clear my clip board but it still does not.

Please advise if someone knows how to fix.

Thanks,

Presuming your "C" and "V" keys still work, maybe your "CTRL" key is broken.  You probably have another one on the other side of the keyboard.  Give it a try.

tried that.  same thing. ..
Do any other CTRL-  commands work?  CTRL-Z?  CTRL-Y?
Try the following (given the above responses).

Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator.

1. SFC /SCANNOW and allow to complete.
2. dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Restart and test.

If the above fails, run a Windows 10 Repair Install and Keep Everything.

Windows 10 is running, so click on the Download button (not Upgrade Button, select Save.
Create a USB Windows Installation key and then run Setup on the USB Key.
This will launch the Repair and proceed normally.

I realize when I login as another user on my computer, copy and paste works.  I am trying to avoid initialize my profile as I do not want to reconfigure my apps again.
sfc finds nothing.  I will try dism.
Thanks.
If it works as another user, it's possible you've changed your keyboard layout, and some keys are mis-mapped.
If you rename your profile then create a new profile under your name and transfer all your settings from roaming and your local folders these should copy all your settings as long as you copy everything you need from these folders..... you can transfer things like your bookmarks and your passwords from chrome, you can transfer your spelling dictionary, your postit notes, your document templates, your outlook signatures and hundreds of other settings ..... these are all found in your roaming and local profile folders. Note these folders are normally hidden and you can see them you have to change your folder settings so that you can see these hidden folders.

Out of curiosity (and for the benefit of future askers), which of the 8 items in Suhaib's link was the fix for your problem?
