Images missing from Outlook

Sporadic problem with Outlook client (Outlook 2016 client using O365)

More and more users (and myself) are noticing stripped images in Outlook.  Specifically it says "The Linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted. Verify that the link points to the correct file and location."   The internet is pointing me everywhere but the kitchen sink.  I am inclined to think it is NOT Temporary Internet files since it seems to be happening on a lot of different machines for different users; one of which has only been here two weeks so it is doubtful his internet cache would need clearing so soon.  I have seen articles that anti-malware software could be doing it (specifically Malwarebytes) but I am not sure about that either.  There is also a thought that our web based spam filter could be doing it as well (SpamTitan) It DOES seem to be only Windows 10 machines so far though as far as I know but that is not verified just yet...nor  have I heard it happening with our Macs either; either of which if that is the case; would eliminate spamtitan.  Does anyone have any credible suggestions for what could be at issue that would affect multiple users/clients across multiple sites?  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do one thing
Open same email from outside your corporate network, on internet, may be from home

I suspect that external links are getting blocked on internet gateway firewall / proxy servers

Hi Mahesh;

We tried that already but you did give me an idea. I looked at the same email in the webmail version of O365 and the images are still missing; so I am taking that to mean it is not really anything internal stripping it off?
You may use webmail but do it from open internet and not from your corporate network internet
No gas.  Connected from a mifi and the same thing.  I will also note that the same thing is observed from the Outlook mobile client as well.

According to the details you have given the image is being broken somewhere between the senders system and your domain email system.
The image is either no longer available on the hosting server, or is being blocked between you and the server hosting the image as David has indicated. I've struck this many times and have yet to find the cause being with Outlook or an on-site block.
it may be that the images contain  a virus, that caused the image to be stripped
also - is the image embeedded, or attached as file to the mail
Follow up for everybody....I have been digging into this even further and now have another curve to marinate on....lol....the intermittent missing images error, etc. ONLY happens when the emails are "internal" i.e. from company user to company user.  Any email from inside sent to the outside or vice versa and replied back and forth no matter how many times the emails are fine.    NOW what??
that looks like a gpo is causing it.
does it happen for all users?  if you create a new user, does it also happen?
Yes it does. The newest user hasnt been here two weeks and it is happening to him as well.   Something that I found that may be the source or at least a catalyst for my issue is that we utilize Exclaimer for O365 for our signature generation; where it basically attaches the signature AFTER it leaves the client; routes to Exclaimer cloud where the signature and imagery is attached and then finally sent on to O365 for processing.  My thought is that something is occurring there; but if that is the case I dont understand why it ONLY happens when the emails are internal?  Anyone have any issues with Exclaimer like this before?
