Remove Terminal Server from domain

We have a client with a SBS2011 (the DC) box and a 2012 terminal Server (just a member).  we are decommissioning the SBS2011 box but keeping the terminal server for the time being.  is it possible for us to remove the TS from the domain, add it to a workgroup and use local user accounts for people to login with?  the Remote licensing is installed on the terminal server itself.  the logins are just managed via the SBS box.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

You need to disjoin the terminal server before you decommission the DC.

Remote Desktop Services requires a domain in order to be in a supported configuration.

It is also a real pain to administer
