I can proceed with 2012 forest and downgrade the function level to 2008 once all migration done then we can plan accordingly??<br />
If I go for mix forest like 2008 and 2012 will there be any issue?

That is actually best option simce you will have to undergo migration<br />
Once you complete migration and ruled out XP, upgrade AD to 2016 directly

Hi, We several AD forests with XP, 2000, 2008, 2012 machines and domain controller running in 2003 servers (Domain\Forest functional level.). I am planning to consolidate all the forest in one single domain with 2012 R2 Domain controller. <br />
<br />
1. Planning to deploy 2012 server and start migrate the servers to new forest<br />
2. When I deploy new forest with 2012 server, its going to be a 2012 R2 Domain\Forest functional level.<br />
3. Will there be any issue for legacy machines?? like GPO, Adding machines to domain, Running logon scripts<br />
4. Enable trust and migrate the objects to 2012 R2 forest<br />

Need help\suggestion to move further with the consolidation of multiple forests....
