Will AD Schema Update from Window 2008R2 (Version 47) to 2016 (version 87) impact Lync Server 2010?

Will AD Schema Update from Window 2008R2 (Version 47) to 2016 (version 87) impact Lync Server 2010?

(The Forest and Domain Function Level is not being changed, they will remain at its current version (2008R2) but may be updated as part of a future change.)

Our Active Directory team is proposing to update the AD Schema version from Window 2008R2 (Version 47) to 2016 (version 87) and we need to know whether impact Lync Server 2010 or require any remedial actions to be required?

I have seen Lync 2010 in the environment of windows server 2012 R2 AD but not 2016 AD

You need to confirm with Microsoft by raising advisory call, that will be better approach as I don't find any official statement from MS even on 2012 R2 DCs

They are saying up to only 2008 R2 DCs

It works but it may stop functioning at any point and you will not be able to get any support for it. The same is true for Exchange 2010.

I would not upgrade until it is sorted out
