"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The only way to give read-only access is by using the Get-MailboxFolderPermission cmdlet.

run this command to assign read-only (reviewer) access:

Add-MailboxFolderPermission sharedmailbox@domain.com:\calendar -User UserToBeGrantedPermission -AccessRights Reviewer

If the user already exists on the permissions list then you can run the following to change the access level

Set-MailboxFolderPermission sharedmailbox@domain.com:\calendar -User UserToBeGrantedPermission -AccessRights Reviewer

To see what permissions are set on the sharedcalendar run:

Get-MailboxFolderPermission sharedmailbx@domain.com:\calendar

(check here for list of possible AccessRights options - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/exchange/mailboxes/set-mailboxfolderpermission?view=exchange-ps)
