windows installer not work on windows 2012 r2 virtual server

hello,

i have a problem with a virtual machine on vmware, its a windows 2012 r2, i think i have a problem with windows installer services:

after i have uninstall vmware tools, i have lost all network driver and i cannot install it again, all application use windows installer to install not work , it stuck on preparing installaltion

windows installer service wont start.

From an elevated command prompt try the following, then reboot:

%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister
%windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister
%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver
%windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver

If that doesn't work try sfc /scannow and reboot.
If that doesn't work then try dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and reboot.

Check the event viewer, anything listed in there you can share with us?

hello,

i have tryed all this, now service start, but all my network card driver is not work, its a vmxnet3 card and its say:

David Johnson, CD

re-install vmware tools.. Vmware tools contains the vmxnet3 driver

hello,

yes i have backup with veeam, but this is an exchange server memeber of DAG.

actuallly i have reinstalled the vmware tools, but the problem still in the network card driver, i dont now if i can delete all network card from vmware and add them again if i keep the network card configuration or not
