How to test my video camera on Skype for Business??

How to test my video camera on Skype for Business??

My video failed on an interview last week using Skype for Business, where I had just installed Skype for Business Desktop.

I have another interview Monday and need to test it and be able to fix it.

How can I find if it's working??

I do not want to clic the link for the gut I will meet on Monday morning until Monday morning.

Thanks.

Preferences -> Audio/Video is a great debug tool.

Tip: For most stable Skype, use Macs. Almost every Skype problem I debug seems to drill down to a Windows problem.

I forgot to say, I have a MacOS.Mojave machine. I installed the Desktop version.

I do not know how to launch the desktop version. Know how?

I assum e the Preferences you mentioned are for Windows? Or Mac while running the Desktop version?

if you open Skype Settings and select Audio & Video―you should be able to test the the camera AND make a 'Test call'

I did this last week, for Skype, and discovered there was a permissions problem that required me to explicitly allow Skype to access the video. But this problem is Skype for Business.

I can not even find how to open Skype for Business, Desktop, unless I click the URL that either of two presenters sent me.

I guess if they are not online, they will not see me...

I will try that next...

it looks like your Mac has other problems, try repairing that first  https://www.imore.com/how-use-macos-recovery-restore-operating-system-your-mac

backup before starting !

I was not ready to restore my Mac OS since I was not sure it worked in the old version. So, I gave Skype for Business a try in Windows, under Parallels, and it worked fine. Interview is now in the queue. Thanks.

Desktops

A desktop computer is a personal computer designed for use at a single location due to its size and power requirements, usually by one person. The most common configuration has a case that houses the power supply, motherboard, disk storage (usually one or more hard disk drives and optical disc drives); a keyboard and mouse for input; and computer monitor and printer for output. The case may be oriented horizontally and placed atop a desk or vertically and placed underneath or beside a desk.
