Allow users to adjust video settings
Users are not allowed to edit video settings (resolution, screen placement, etc.) in a View 7 desktop pool. The control panel message is that this is controlled by the administrator. I looked in GPO but don't see anything.
Any ideas how to allow them to adjust these settings?
Thanks

Hi Andrew. They want to change the main display as well as the appearance (monitor1/monitor2 swap sides/positions). I am thinking these functions were blocked when I ran some script to optimize the golden image. Resolution is set to 1920x1080 and is set in the pool settings, as you mentioned, and is ok.
Thanks for the reply.

To note, when I login as my admin account, or any admin account, these settings are not blocked.
Is this Windows 10 ?

Windows 7. Just saw this, to get them "happy" we went over and swapped cables on 25 Wyse terminals / monitors. Though, the main display is still an issue.
Thanks

Well that would work, for one user....
Group policy has not changed between Windows 7 and Windows 10, do they have access to control panel, or any screen settings ?

Luckily they are assigned a Wyse terminal in their own station (call center) so swapping cables was the quickest "fix" this morning.
I looked at those links but have not compared to a VM in the pool yet. Just moved to a new building over the weekend so dealing with a couple of hundred people coming in for the first time this morning.
They can open control panel and change most settings but cannot change any display settings. It's like display is locked down but nothing else in control panel.

VDI (e.g. pool settings) can override settings in the VM.
But if a Local Admin can access, it's permission or GPO based restrictions

OK. I looked over the Group Policies linked to this OU and none had any settings for control panel. I will look again, and above (though this issue is only affecting this one OU).
Where would a permission restriction be applied that would prevent editing display but allow access to other control panel objects?

Wanted to note that when I log into the golden image with a non-admin account (a user I use as a test account), I am able to access and reconfigure display settings but when given a VM from this pool, they test, non-admin user cannot reconfigure the display the settings.

Understood, now. I was unaware that view by default disables the screen settings.
I am using view GPOs (Persona Mgt) but none are configured to allow users to change screen settings. I am looking over all of them now.

Thanks for pointing me in the correct direction. I did not have some of the GPOs (specifically vdm_agent.adm). I found it in a bundle I had downloaded then followed the directions here. It worked.

BUT what exactly do you want to change because resolution is a Pool function, e.g. you've specified it, so do they want to decrease or increase the resolution, or is there another configuration item they want to change ?
