not a typo? that Postgres version is out of support for many years now...

Yes, it was a typo. The PostGreSQL version I want to install is 9.6 but inside an Oracle Virtual Box.

Depending on the OS chosen on the virtual machine you can choose one of the two options described here: http://get.enterprisedb.com/docs/PostgreSQL_Installation_Guide_v9.6.pdf
You can optionally uncheck the Stack Builder box and click Finish to complete the PostgreSQL installation or accept the default and proceed to Stack Builder. The Stack Builder utility provides a graphical interface that downloads and installs applications and drivers that work with PostgreSQL.
