Gain Access to Adtran Router Password Information Unknown
New client with Adtran router and the password they have on file doesn't work. I believe Adtran's can be accessed by a serial port however any advice how to access without a full reset is my question. Is it possible? It's not a hijacked situation the password was misplaced. Just bringing this up so this post does not go down the wrong path.
Question, is it possible to reset the password via the serial port and not take the router down. It's in production.

There is no way to do it, only by the given steps from " Wes Miller" and you have to reboot the device to enter the Bootstrap to bypass the password.

I get the following screen
****** Important******
Enable and telnet passwords are configured to 'password'
Please change them immediately
The Vlan1 is enabled with an address of 10.10.10.1
Telnet passwords are also enabled.
Then I'm prompted for a username and password and still can't get in.
Please advise.

Have any ideas? Thank you.

I tried on a MAC first with a USB to serial connector and it was worthless, read allot about the USB drivers failing. I have a 2012 server and WIN7 computer near the router both with serial ports but these don't work either. I've used the cable before so I know it's not this.
