Lenovo P72 has dramatic loss of download speed after switching wireless networks
I have a user with a Lenovo P72 laptop running W10 Pro 1803.
When user is at home connected to Comcast wifi, he uses Sonicwall Global VPN to connect to office. Problem occurs when he disconnects from VPN, his wireless download speed drops into the kbps range. Tried IPCONFIG /flushdns, /release, and /renew to no avail. Only gets speed back after a reboot of system.
We thought this might be a result of VPN conflict, but the problem occurs in at least one other way we found. If user connects to a Verizon MiFi (mobile hotspot), he can use that to get internet. However, when he disconnects from MiFi, his wireless download speeds drop to unusable again.
IP addressing seems appropriate, just for some reason his download speed crashes to a halt when switching wireless connections.

Not always using USB connector, problem occurs whether on USB tether or not.
System is definitely set for DHCP

Before restarting the computer, try bypassing the router and connecting directly to the modem and see if that makes a diference.
It is probably (95%) not a Windows problem.
Try running Lenovo System Update and update everything including BIOS and Chipset.
Then if the updates and suggestions above do not solve the issue, then you need to consider either a Repair Install or backup and reinstall Windows

Windows 10 is running, so click on the Download button (not Upgrade Button, select Save.
Create a USB Windows Installation key and then run Setup on the USB Key.
This will launch the Repair and proceed normally.

As this user is often at a client site, connecting to their router directly is almost never an option, and using a MiFi takes that out of equation altogether.
I did run a windows update yesterday, now on 1809. All Lenovo hardware/bios updates have previously been installed.
I think next call is to Lenovo to see why their card is not refreshing connections properly.

1. Make sure the system is set for DHCP and not Static IP addressing.
2. Make sure that all connections have been fully disconnected before connecting another one.
