Quotas for home drives

Do any of you use quotas for user home.drives on your file servers. Can this throw up any specific challenges and what storage quotas do you allow them. I can see benefits in such an approach for capacity planning

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

you can use file server resource manager (FSRM) to define quota

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/josebda/2008/08/20/the-basics-of-windows-server-2008-fsrm-file-server-resource-manager/

but I would rather suggest to use file screening rules to block certain file types saved on server with FSRM

This will ensure that only work items would be saved on server under home drives and you can track usage effectively
