VCarve not importing .dwg file

When I try to import a .dwg file to VCarve, I receive a "no data found" message. What do I need to do for it to be imported properly?

Cause: VCarve is unable to interpret the DWG 2018 file format.

Solution: Resave the drawing in AutoCAD to the DWG 2013 format.

This can be done by:
  1. Selecting Save As from the AutoCAD drop down menu
  2. Selecting the file type in the bottom right, and changing to DWG 2013
  3. Click Save
