MAC will not remember windows server password upon reboot

On a MAC if you have an alias on the desktop which points to a local server,
when you double click on that alias you need to keep entering the credentials based on DOMAIN\user and password.
And even if you check the box to remember the password in the keychain, it keeps popping every time you reboot and try to access the folder on the local server.
How can I resolve this?
Thank you.

Check the Keychain for the entries.  You may actually be getting multiple different entries because of some mismatch in the actual password entries.  Maybe try using a specific IP address for the connection alias.
I agree with serialband, this sounds like a key chain issue.

But try something else for me.
  • Delete your alias and eject any remote servers
  • Make sure you are not logged into the Windows server.
  • Click on the desktop to be sure the Finder is in front
  • Type Command-k to bring up the network browser
  • Find your server, double-click  on it, select the volume you want, and that should open the login window again.
  • Enter your password agsin and click save password.
  • Make a new alias
  • Log off again and try the new alias

Note that any volume on the server with the same login will not ask for the password while logged into one volume.

The passwords were fine actually. When I added the username without the domain it accepted it, however I also needed to change the settings in the keychain not to prompt for the password.
Oh, so it was the keychain prompting for a password, not the server?
